Nigeria’s Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo, has directed relevant agencies to investigate an incident involving an Enugu Air aircraft that skidded off the runway after landing at Benin Airport, according to a report by Sahara Reporters. Keyamo confirmed on X that the aircraft landed safely before veering off due to a “runway excursion,” and that all passengers and crew were unharmed.
The incident, which occurred on Thursday amid heavy rainfall, initially sparked crash fears. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority clarified the aircraft did not crash, attributing the excursion to adverse weather conditions during landing.
