President Bola Tinubu has declared that the Federal Capital Territory is finally living up to its promise, nearly 50 years after its creation, crediting FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s leadership.
Tinubu: Abuja Finally Working Under Wike
Tinubu, represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, spoke at a thanksgiving dinner marking the inauguration of 31 projects completed in 28 days, according to The Nation Newspaper.
He praised the tangible results of Wike’s tenure, saying leadership is measured by visible outcomes, not promises. Wike credited the achievements to Tinubu’s approval of the FCT Civil Service Commission and the administration’s exit from the Treasury Single Account, which allowed access to commercial bank financing.
He revealed 9 projects were inaugurated in year one, 19 in year two, and 31 in year three, with over 70 percent previously abandoned by past administrations.
