A fleeing Anambra teacher accused of flogging a 12-year-old pupil to death has surrendered to police after a sustained manhunt.

The suspect, identified as Mrs. Dim Ebere, 47, turned herself in at the Neni Divisional Police Station in Anaocha Local Government Area, according to Tribune Online. Police Public Relations Officer SP Tochukwu Ikenga said she will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka for the investigation’s conclusion.
Ikenga credited the Safe School Protection Squad, Neni Divisional Police, and community leaders in Adazi-Ani for facilitating the surrender. He assured the victim’s family that justice would be served and urged the public to remain calm, avoid taking the law into their own hands, and continue providing information to aid ongoing investigations.
