Police have apprehended a suspect in Katsina State following a petition from an Akwa Ibom lecturer who was defrauded of N5.7 million through a Facebook marketplace scam. The suspect advertised household items, received full payment, and then blocked the buyer. The Nigeria Police Force National Cyber Crime Centre, with assistance from Meta Inc., traced and arrested the suspect, recovering the stolen funds. Authorities are urging public caution in online transactions.
