Air Chief warns coup plotters will face full wrath of law

Air Marshal Aneke condemned an alleged coup plot as reprehensible and vowed legal action against anyone found guilty of attempting to subvert Nigeria’s democracy.

Nigeria’s Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, on Wednesday described recent reports of a coup attempt against President Bola Tinubu’s government as “shameful, shocking and wholly reprehensible.”

He made the remarks during a strategic meeting with Air Force commanders in Abuja marking his first 100 days in office, and warned that any military personnel found guilty of plotting to overthrow the democratic government “will face the full wrath of the law.”

Aneke stressed the Nigerian Air Force’s loyalty to the Constitution and urged commanders to maintain cohesion and discipline, especially with the 2027 elections approaching.
