Davido has announced he is joining the Accord Party, following his uncle, Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke, who defected from the PDP amid a leadership crisis. The singer shared the update on X, saying he would visit Osogbo to collect his membership card at Imole House, known as Imole House.
“I Will be live in Osun to pick up my @AccordPartyNG membership card @ IMOLE HOUSE OSOGBO Tomorrow… see you soon ACCORDINGLY ,” Davido posted, tagging Governor Adeleke. His uncle had earlier joined the party after consultations, citing alignment with citizen welfare and dissatisfaction with PDP leadership disputes.
Governor Adeleke revealed he registered on November 6, 2025, choosing Accord for its welfarism philosophy. “We opted for the Accord Party because its mission of welfarism aligns with our passionate focus on citizens and workers’ welfare,” he said. The move has stirred strong reactions online, highlighting celebrity influence in politics.
