James Abiodun Faleke, member of the House of Representatives for Ikeja Federal Constituency and chairman of the House Committee on Finance, has alleged that the redesign of the naira was aimed at preventing President Bola Tinubu from winning the 2023 presidential election. Faleke made the claim while supervising the distribution of rice to supporters and less privileged Nigerians in Abuja.
According to him, “despite all the crisis, despite the Naira redesign,” Tinubu prevailed at the polls. He said, “There was a time, because they don’t want Bola Tinubu to win election, the Naira was redesigned… We went into election without cash, without anything but God, who has anointed Bola Tinubu, said he will win election, and he won election.”
Faleke said the rice distribution was part of Christmas outreach, urging supporters to prepare for future political activities and voter registration. He stressed that membership of support groups would require a voter’s card. Senator Magnus Abe also described Tinubu as “the answer to the present challenges of our country,” pledging continued support for the president.
