The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) announced it will sue 17 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly who recently re-defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). PDP spokesperson Ini Ememobong described the lawmakers as ‘enemies of democracy’ and ‘political puppets,’ pledging to reclaim the party’s mandate through legal action.
This follows a prior defection by 27 assembly members in December 2024, loyal to Nyesom Wike, which was later denied by the lawmakers and deemed unproven by the Supreme Court. The PDP is urging its members in Rivers State to remain steadfast.
