Oyo State pilgrims will depart for the 2026 Hajj from the upgraded Ladoke Akintola International Airport, Ibadan. Hashim Atere, Chairman of the Pilgrims Welfare Board Muslim Wing, confirmed this, citing the airport’s successful handling of President Bola Tinubu’s aircraft in September.
Atere acknowledged Governor Seyi Makinde’s support for the airport upgrade, which commenced in 2024 with a N41bn investment. He assured pilgrims of a superior experience and urged adherence to the December 5 payment deadline.
