On Tuesday morning, three staff members from Abia State Governor Alex Otti’s advance team were attacked by unidentified gunmen near the Sam Mbakwe Cargo Airport in Owerri, Imo State.
Governor Otti’s spokesperson, Njoku Ukoha, confirmed the incident in a statement, emphasizing that the governor was not in the convoy at the time of the attack.
The ambush occurred between Umuowa and Ihite junction, just before the Sam Mbakwe Airport Junction. The Imo State Police Command, through DSP Henry Okoye, indicated they had not yet received a formal report.
