Accenture is partnering with OpenAI to deploy ChatGPT Enterprise to tens of thousands of employees and launch a joint flagship program aimed at accelerating AI-driven enterprise transformation.
Accenture is deepening its push into artificial intelligence through a new partnership with OpenAI that will put ChatGPT Enterprise in the hands of tens of thousands of its employees. The tool will be used across consulting, operations, and delivery functions, marking a broad integration of AI into the company’s daily workflows. The collaboration will also support OpenAI’s efforts to scale its enterprise capabilities.
The shift reflects how AI is rapidly transforming the consulting industry, with firms like Accenture increasingly acting as long-term transformation partners instead of traditional strategy advisers. As companies race to capitalize on AI, consultants are being relied upon not only to shape strategy but also to build and implement the tools needed to unlock new efficiencies. Accenture CEO Julie Sweet said the deal will “accelerate enterprise reinvention and business outcomes for our clients.”
Talent is also being reshaped by this transition. OpenAI noted that Accenture will have the largest number of professionals upskilled through OpenAI Certifications. Meanwhile, Sweet previously stated that the firm has been “exiting” employees who cannot be reskilled for the AI era, underscoring how workforce expectations are shifting in response to technological demands.
As part of the partnership, the companies plan to launch a “flagship AI client program” that marries OpenAI’s products with Accenture’s “AI expertise and industry and function domain knowledge.” The program aims to help clients adopt AI within real business workflows and to “enable joint clients to adopt OpenAI’s agentic capabilities faster and with deeper integration across their organizations,” according to OpenAI.
