A Boko Haram-linked faction named Wulowulo is reportedly spreading into North-Central Nigeria, prompting heightened security measures.
A new terror organisation known as Wulowulo has reportedly emerged in North-Central Nigeria, sparking concerns among security stakeholders. Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule disclosed the development during an expanded security meeting in Lafia, stating that intelligence reports identified the group as a splinter faction of Boko Haram.
“One of the reasons why we invited you here is the fact that the situation of insecurity… is a big concern, and some of them are beginning to spread into our state,” Sule said. He warned that the group had begun establishing a foothold in Kwara State, adding, “We need to ensure that we take certain steps not to allow it… to come into our state.”
The governor also ordered an investigation into a land dispute in Kokona LGA that left seven dead, while lamenting rising cases of kidnappings in Lafia and Karu. He urged security agencies to intensify surveillance and adopt new strategies.
