MSNBC to rebrand as MS NOW…

MSNBC, the cable news network known for progressive commentary and breaking news, will adopt a new name by the end of 2025 as part of a corporate spinoff from Comcast.

The network will be rebranded as My Source News Opinion World, or MS NOW.

Rebecca Kutler, MSNBC’s president, said in a memo that the change reflects its mission to deliver “breaking news and best-in-class opinion journalism.” She added, “I want to acknowledge that for many of you who have spent years or decades here, it is hard to imagine the network by any other name.”

The rebrand comes as most NBCUniversal cable channels move into a new company, Versant, which will no longer use NBC’s name or Peacock logo. Versant chief executive Mark Lazarus said the shift will “create distinct brand identities and establish an independent news organization.”

Kutler emphasized that while the name is changing, “our commitment to our work and our audiences will not waiver.”
