A pregnant nurse was allegedly murdered for ritual purposes by a man in the Nnobi area of Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
According to police reports, the suspect lured the victim, who was about five months pregnant, into his residence under false pretenses. Upon arrival, she was allegedly killed, and parts of her body were reportedly removed.
The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident, stating that the suspect had been arrested. “The man is in our custody. Preliminary investigation shows he had intentions of using the woman for money rituals,” Ikenga said.
He added that the case had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
The victim, a qualified nurse based in the state, was said to have been in private practice before the tragic incident. An autopsy is expected to be conducted.
