Parents tackle would-be kidnapper after he snatches 6-year-old in NYC

A 36-year-old man faces charges after allegedly grabbing a child off a NYC street—only for the boy’s parents to chase him down and hold him until police arrived.


New York man tries kidnapping a 6-year-old child off the street in New York City.

Rah’Shem Gantt and his parents were looking for some popcorn when a man dressed in black snatched him and tried leaving with him.

The boy’s mother and father chased the man down and pinned him to the ground until police arrived.

“I had my foot on his chest to hold him down. I didn’t have the heart to stomp him. Violence is not my way,” said the boy’s mom.

36-year-old Jonathan Robalino was arrested and charged with assault and attempted kidnapping.
