Ebonyi State police have announced movement restrictions for the upcoming August 22 Local Government elections. Commissioner of Police Urunwa Okafor stated that deployment of officers aims to ensure security and a conducive voting environment. Essential personnel, including election officials and accredited media, are exempt but must carry identification.
The police warned against inflammatory actions that could disrupt the elections and urged voters to remain peaceful. Collaboration with other security agencies is underway to guarantee a secure and incident-free electoral process across the state’s 13 Local Government Areas.
