The Edo State House of Assembly has inaugurated a five-person ad hoc committee to investigate immediate past speaker, Blessing Agbebaku, over corruption allegations. Committee chairman, Bright Iyamu, assured a transparent and fair probe into financial impropriety, including inflated costs for official vehicles. Agbebaku resigned following the allegations, with Yekini Idaiye elected as the new speaker.
