The UN reports over 300 children have died in the Ebola outbreak in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Children are disproportionately affected, comprising nearly a quarter of confirmed cases and almost a third of all deaths. The crisis unfolds in Ituri province, where conflict has displaced nearly a million people, with women and children forming 80% of those affected. The outbreak is also disrupting essential healthcare, leading to a 40% drop in service use in the hardest-hit areas.
