African Action Congress presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has unveiled part of his 2027 presidential manifesto, proposing the deployment of artificial intelligence to manage Nigeria’s public finances and drone technology to strengthen national defence, Punch reports.
In separate posts on his verified X handle on Friday, Sowore said his administration would leverage emerging technologies to tackle corruption, improve transparency and modernise governance. AI, he said, would serve as the country’s “Minister of Finance,” eliminating human manipulation and waste through data-driven decisions, while drones would act as “Minister of Defence,” offering modern surveillance and rapid response.
Expanding on the proposal, Sowore argued blockchain and AI were the most powerful tools against public sector corruption. Blockchain would create an unalterable public ledger of government transactions, while AI would audit operations in real time, flagging fraud and procurement irregularities before funds vanish.
He added that his government would become leaner and faster, cutting bloated bureaucracies, paper ledgers and wasteful seminars, with technology-driven governance rapidly improving Nigerians’ quality of life.
