Miyetti Allah national president Bello Bodejo has been granted N2 billion bail by a Federal High Court in Abuja over alleged money laundering charges filed by the EFCC.
Bodejo Gets N2bn Bail Over Money Laundering
The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore national president Bello Bodejo in the sum of N2 billion with two sureties in like sum, over alleged money laundering charges filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, according to Sahara Reporters.
Justice Inyang Ekwo, who delivered the ruling on Monday, ordered one surety to show three years’ tax clearance and Abuja residency, while the second must own landed property in Abuja worth N2 billion. Bodejo was also directed to surrender his international passport and barred from travelling abroad without the court’s permission.
The judge adjourned the case to October 5, 6 and 7 for trial to begin. Bodejo, arraigned July 9, has pleaded not guilty to all counts.
