Transcorp Power H1 Profit Dips 6.37%, Declares N1.50 Dividend
The decline was driven by a weak second quarter, with Q2 pre-tax profit falling 61.11% quarter-on-quarter to N15.40 billion, according to Nairametrics. The dividend will be paid on July 23 to shareholders on the register as of July 20.
MD/CEO Peter Ikenga attributed the pressure to recurring transmission line vandalism that constrained generation capacity evacuation, but expressed confidence in a stronger finish to FY 2026. CFO Evans Okpogoro highlighted improved efficiency, with gross margin rising to 38.4%. Revenue fell 12.95% in Q2 to N87.37 billion, while the stock has declined 20% year-to-date, closing at N245.50 on July 17.
