Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has declared the state an unapologetic one-party stronghold for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Uzodimma: Imo Solidly Behind Tinubu for 2027
Speaking while hosting the Renewed Hope Ambassadors Media team on a tour of government projects, Uzodimma said, according to The Sun Nigeria, that Imo residents credit Tinubu’s policies for the state’s current development.
The governor defended the fuel subsidy removal, revealing Imo’s federal allocation rose from ₦100 million to over ₦10.7 billion monthly after the policy took effect. He said the state’s internally generated revenue climbed from ₦400 million to nearly ₦6 billion monthly, while debt fell from ₦287 billion to under ₦90 billion. Uzodimma also touted improved electricity supply, with Imo now generating, transmitting and distributing its own power.
