Nigerian singer Tems has become the first African female artist to earn a RIAA Diamond-certified single in the United States for “Wait For U.”
Tems Makes History with Diamond Single in US
Tems achieved the milestone with her collaboration with Future and Drake, after the track surpassed 10 million certified units in the US, according to P.M. News.
Global music monitoring platform Chart Data confirmed the song has now sold over 11 million units, officially making it 11x Platinum.
Tems joins Wizkid as the only African artists to earn a Diamond certification in the US, with Wizkid first achieving the feat through his “One Dance” collaboration with Drake.
The Grammy-winning singer continues to build on her international career following her rise to global prominence.
