Nollywood actor Baba Ijesha has revealed that the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, gifted him a brand-new car, luxury items and a chieftaincy title — Baba Awada Konge Oduwa — following the birth of his son with fashion designer wife Luminee.
The Ooni of Ife has rolled out the royal red carpet for Baba Ijesha — and the gifts were anything but modest.
Actor James Olarenwaju, widely known as Baba Ijesha, took to Facebook on Thursday to reveal that the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, had bestowed upon him a brand-new car, luxurious gifts and a chieftaincy title following the birth of his son with fashion designer wife Abiodun Tokunbo, popularly known as Luminee.
The Punch reported that the actor expressed deep gratitude to the traditional ruler in the post, describing the visit as a moment of royal warmth and fatherly affirmation.
“My deepest gratitude to His Imperial Majesty, Ooni of Ife. Baba, thank you for the royal welcome, fatherly love, and the confidence you gave my wife Afolashade Omiyinka and I,” Baba Ijesha wrote. “For the luxurious gifts you blessed us with, and the brand new car — I am truly humbled. As a son of the soil, I’m also honoured by the chieftaincy title Baba Awada Konge Oduwa.”
The royal recognition comes weeks after the birth of the couple’s son generated significant online attention. Luminee first hinted at the baby’s arrival on June 13, 2026, revealing the gender without identifying the father, before later sharing maternity photographs featuring herself and Baba Ijesha — after which congratulatory messages flooded in from fans and well-wishers.
The birth announcement on June 15 went viral, attracting mixed reactions across social media platforms.
Baba Ijesha was convicted of indecent treatment of a child and sexual assault of a minor, serving a three-year prison sentence before regaining his freedom in November 2025.
The chieftaincy title conferred on him by the Ooni — Baba Awada Konge Oduwa — now adds a royal dimension to the actor’s post-prison public reappearance alongside his wife and newborn son.
