Anchor Varsity Don Urges New Course
Professor Olusola Oyero of Anchor University has called for a dedicated ‘children’s journalism’ course to protect minors from media harm. Speaking at the university’s inaugural professorial lecture, he criticized modern media’s impact on child development, arguing that children are increasingly consumed by media systems.
Oyero highlighted media failures in protecting children and warned of digital trauma from sensational reporting. He proposed a specialized field of study to equip professionals with child-rights reporting skills.
