Youth Minister Ayodele Olawande says Adire has not been approved to replace the NYSC khaki uniform, clarifying that it was only mentioned as one of several reform proposals.
Adire Not Approved For NYSC
Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande has clarified that the Federal Government has not approved Adire as the new NYSC uniform, according to Vanguard.
Olawande said his comment during a Channels Television interview was misunderstood, explaining that Adire and Ankara were only cited as examples of proposals being considered under ongoing NYSC reforms. He said no final decision has been made on the fabric or design, adding that government is reviewing options based on appearance, durability, functionality, cost-effectiveness, national identity and support for local industry.
The minister urged Nigerians not to let the uniform debate overshadow broader reforms targeting employability, entrepreneurship, national integration and service delivery.
