Court Pushes N98.5bn Patent Suit Settlement
CBN, NIBSS Face IP Dispute
A N98.5 billion patent infringement lawsuit involving Nigeria’s Central Bank (CBN), NIBSS, Enterprise Logistics Speciale, and Avanage Nigeria is urged for out-of-court settlement by the Federal High Court in Lagos. Judge Deinde Dipeolu stressed genuine efforts for amicable resolution before trial, particularly after some defendants lacked legal representation. Plaintiffs seek substantial damages for alleged patent infringement, breach of an NDA, and losses tied to their cash management technology.
