British TikTok influencer Brooke George, 23, is facing execution by firing squad in Dubai after being charged with murdering her boyfriend, whom she reportedly met on social media.
Police arrested George in the early hours of Monday, alleging she fatally stabbed the man in a premeditated attack. She’s now held at Bur Dubai Police Station.
Advocacy group Detained in Dubai is pushing for her release on bail, claiming she was forcefully stripped naked in custody with male officers present. The group says the boyfriend had grown “increasingly controlling and abusive,” even seizing her passport to stop her leaving.
Detained in Dubai chief Radha Stirling said George “feared for her life” and grabbed a kitchen knife in self-defence.
George’s mother, Thereza, said her daughter was “absolutely terrified” and crying uncontrollably after the incident, with a badly swollen eye.
The UK’s Foreign Office confirmed it’s supporting George and her family, Gazette NGR reports.
