A three-storey building has collapsed in Lagos’s Alakija area, with several people feared trapped as residents await emergency responders.
Panic gripped Alakija on Thursday after a three-storey building suddenly came down, trapping an unknown number of people beneath the rubble.
The structure caved in around 11:40 a.m., according to a report by Leadership, sending residents and passersby rushing to the scene in shock.
As of reporting time, the exact number trapped remained unclear, and emergency responders had yet to arrive. Anxious residents gathered around the wreckage, hoping rescue teams would reach those feared buried in time.
Authorities have not released information on casualties or what caused the collapse.
