‘Bullet in a box’: First Bank MD receives chilling parcel at Lagos home

Lagos Police have launched a serious investigation after two live 7.62mm bullets were delivered in a parcel to the Lagos residence of First Bank Nigeria MD and CEO Olusegun Alebiosu, with no arrests made yet despite the bank chief naming suspects.

Somebody sent First Bank Nigeria’s chief executive a very different kind of package — and it wasn’t flowers

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed it is investigating the delivery of a parcel containing two rounds of live 7.62mm ammunition to the residence of Olusegun Alebiosu, Managing Director and CEO of First Bank Nigeria.

According PM News, Lagos Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, made the disclosure Tuesday during a press briefing, revealing Alebiosu reported the chilling discovery to police on May 7, 2026, after his security guard received the suspicious package at his Lagos home.

When opened, the parcel’s contents left little room for interpretation.

“Presently, I can confirm to you that the matter is still under investigation. It is a serious case. The investigation needs to be more thorough,” Fatai told journalists, according to the Lagos State Police Command.

No arrests have been made — yet. But the bank chief has apparently pointed fingers.

“Presently, no suspect is in custody. Even though the MD has mentioned some people who he suspected of being the brains behind it. That is his suspicion anyway. We are still working on it,” the commissioner added.

At the same briefing, Fatai announced broader security wins across Lagos — operatives recovering 14 firearms, four live cartridges, 51 mobile phones, one motorcycle, 47 sacks of military camouflage uniforms, and vandalised electrical cables.

Two bullets. One powerful target. Zero suspects in custody.

The message delivered to Alebiosu’s doorstep was crystal clear — decoding who sent it is now Lagos Police’s most urgent assignment.
