US Immigration and Customs Enforcement has announced plans to deport Nigerian national Ayodeji Olamide Ajayi, who allegedly overstayed a student visa since 2007 and accumulated a criminal record that includes convictions and charges of domestic violence, rape and kidnapping.
An overstayed student visa. Nearly two decades. And a criminal record ICE says speaks for itself.
The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency has announced the imminent deportation of Ayodeji Olamide Ajayi, a Nigerian national who entered the US in 2007 on a student visa and never left after leaving school, according to Vanguard.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday night, June 22, 2026, ICE laid out its case bluntly: “He stayed in the U.S. and got to work on a lengthy rap sheet that includes convictions such as: Domestic violence, Trespassing, Intimidation, and Obstruction.” The agency added that his record also includes “egregious charges” of kidnapping, rape and family neglect.
ICE stopped short of disclosing where the offences occurred or clarifying the current legal status of the rape and kidnapping allegations — a gap that leaves key questions unanswered.
Nevertheless, the agency was unambiguous about what happens next. “Thanks to POTUS’ commitment to getting criminal illegal aliens out of this country, Ajayi will be leaving the United States shortly,” it stated.
Ajayi’s case fits squarely into the current administration’s aggressive immigration enforcement posture — targeting undocumented individuals with criminal histories for swift removal.
The deportation order is in motion. The details, however, remain incomplete.
