INEC has fixed February 20 and March 6, 2027, for the presidential, National Assembly, governorship and state assembly elections.
Independent National Electoral Commission has released the timetable for the 2027 general elections, fixing the Presidential and National Assembly polls for February 20, 2027, and the Governorship and State Assembly elections for March 6. INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, announced the dates at a news conference in Abuja on Friday.
The commission said it finalised the schedule despite delays in the passage of the amended Electoral Act before the National Assembly. INEC noted that while submissions had been made, some aspects of the timetable could be affected depending on when lawmakers conclude work on the bill.
