Seyi Makinde, presidential candidate for the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), has selected Lawal Daura, former Director-General of the State Security Service (SSS), as his running mate for the 2027 general election. The announcement was made at the APM national convention in Bauchi. Makinde stated Daura was chosen to address the nation’s security challenges. Daura previously served as SSS DG from 2015 to 2018 and was later dismissed by acting President Yemi Osinbajo.
