A new video showing CSP Oyewumi celebrating his birthday with Chinese nationals facing illegal mining charges has intensified calls for the IGP to investigate the officer already accused of helping the defendants flee Nigeria.

A fresh video is turning up the heat on CSP Abdulmajeed Abisoye Oyewumi. Obtained by SaharaReporters, the footage shows the senior police officer seated among Chinese nationals standing trial for illegal mining, blowing out candles as they sing him “Happy Birthday”, according to Sahara Reporters
The clip has sparked outrage, with anti-corruption advocates demanding IGP Olatunji Disu launch an urgent investigation. It comes days after Mining Marshals arrested Oyewumi over allegations he helped two of the defendants escape through the Nigeria-Cameroon border. The suspects face charges before the Federal High Court in Abuja over alleged illegal mining in Nasarawa State.
