Godspower Oniovosa has been charged in Houston after allegedly killing a pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash.
A U.S.-based Nigerian, Godspower Oniovosa, has been charged over the death of a male pedestrian in a hit-and-run crash in Houston, Texas, according to Peoples Gazette.
Authorities said the incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. on May 10 when the 50-year-old allegedly struck the victim with a Land Rover Range Rover Sport and fled without offering assistance. The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene.
“Charges have been filed against a suspect arrested in a fatal hit and run crash,” officials said, adding that Oniovosa is charged with failure to stop and render aid involving death.
Police said the vehicle was later found with heavy front-end damage, while the suspect was detained and returned to the scene.
“Identity of the deceased male is pending notification to family members,” authorities added.
