Senate Approves N11 Trillion Revenue Target for Customs

The Senate Committee on Customs and Excise has greenlit an ambitious ₦11 trillion revenue target for the Nigeria Customs Service for the 2026 fiscal year. This comes alongside an approved expenditure estimate of N1.235 trillion. Lawmakers expressed confidence in the NCS’s ability to meet these targets, citing its strong performance in 2025, where it exceeded expectations.

Comptroller-General Adewale Adeniyi presented the service’s budget, highlighting a significant surplus in 2025 despite global economic challenges. The committee chairman, Isah Jibrin, praised the service’s efforts and extended support for President Tinubu’s confidence in the Comptroller-General.
