The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced a power outage affecting the Presidential Villa, Supreme Court, Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport and several parts of the Federal Capital Territory. AEDC also listed several institutions, embassies, hotels and residential areas impacted by the outage, including Bolingo Hotel, the embassies of Turkey, Sudan, Egypt, Pakistan and India, the European Union office, National Hospital, Treasury House and parts of Asokoro. Other affected locations include the National Assembly Annex, Aso Drive, National Judicial Council, Defence Intelligence Agency, Command Guest House, BAT Barracks, Aviation Village, Dunamis Church, Shoprite, Airport Road, Airforce Base, River Park Estate, and offices of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Customs, Correctional Services and Civil Defence.

The company said the technical team of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) was already working to restore electricity supply to the affected areas. “We regret the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding,” AEDC stated in the notice while apologising to its “valued customers” affected by the outage.
