Nigeria drawn with Madagascar, Tanzania, Guinea-Bissau in AFCON 2027 qualifiers

Nigeria has been drawn in Group L alongside Madagascar, Tanzania and Guinea-Bissau for the AFCON 2027 qualifiers.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been drawn in Group L of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers alongside Madagascar, Tanzania and Guinea-Bissau, according to Peoples Gazette.

The draw, held in Cairo on Tuesday, grouped 48 teams into 12 pools of four, with the tournament set to be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. The qualifying series will run from September 2026 to March 2027.

The top two teams from each group will secure automatic qualification for the tournament.
Group C has been tagged the ‘group of death’ after 2023 champions Côte d’Ivoire were drawn with Ghana, Gambia and Somalia.

Other notable groups include Morocco heading Group A and Egypt leading Group B.
Nigeria will aim to top its group as it seeks a place in the continental tournament.
