SARAKI ARRAIGNMENT DATE
A Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin has fixed July 22 for the arraignment of former Senate President Bukola Saraki over alleged defamatory statements against Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
According to Vanguard, Justice M.O. Folorunsho ruled that the alleged offence, tied to statements Saraki reportedly published in April claiming AbdulRazaq lacked education beyond secondary school, is triable by the court.
The judge dismissed all seven reliefs sought by Saraki’s defence team, which had argued the case lacked jurisdiction and was an abuse of court process, ruling the matter was not politically motivated and remained valid.
