A Kano State government aide has publicly claimed that opposition leader Rabiu Kwankwaso is strategically aligning his political maneuvers to favor President Bola Tinubu’s second-term ambition for 2027.
The Director-General of Media and Publicity at the Kano Government House, Sunusi Tofa, has alleged that former Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is indirectly aiding President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign. Speaking Wednesday on Arise News, Tofa claimed that strategic political calculations by the opposition figure will ultimately benefit the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Tofa stated: “Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, is indirectly or strategically working towards President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid. There are political activities and strategic engagements already taking place ahead of 2027, and many of them will eventually favour President Tinubu.”
The spokesperson also disclosed that Governor Abba Yusuf approached Tinubu regarding a defection to the APC with Kwankwaso’s consent. Additionally, Tofa dismissed reports of a massive five-million-supporter gathering at Kwankwaso’s home, declaring that the property “cannot accommodate more than 2,000 people.”
