Google has launched Gemini Omni, an AI-powered video creation tool that generates and edits videos from text, image and voice prompts, intensifying competition in the generative AI video space.
Google has launched Gemini Omni, a new artificial intelligence-powered video creation tool capable of generating and editing videos from text, images and voice prompts, as the tech giant moves to expand its Gemini AI ecosystem beyond chat and search.
Announcing the tool on its official blog, Google described Gemini Omni as built to support “native multimodal video generation.” “Gemini Omni is our next step toward more capable multimodal generation,” the company said.
The tool can generate short-form videos from written prompts, transform still images into moving visuals, and use voice input to shape scenes and storytelling.
Google said Gemini Omni targets creators, developers and businesses, with potential use cases spanning content production, marketing, education and software development.
Industry analysts say the launch places Google in direct competition with other technology firms racing to commercialise advanced AI video generation tools.
