Ghana have dismissed coach Otto Addo after poor results, just weeks before the start of the 2026 World Cup.
The Ghana Football Association has sacked national team manager Otto Addo just 72 days before the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The decision followed Ghana’s 2-1 friendly defeat to Germany in Stuttgart on Monday, days after a heavy 5-1 loss to Austria in Vienna. The Black Stars have now lost their last four matches.
In a statement, the association said it had “parted ways” with Addo and that his exit was “effective immediately.” The team also failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations during his tenure. Ghana will begin their World Cup campaign against Panama before facing England and Croatia.
