“There is 91% disapproval of this administration… the worst in Nigeria’s history.”
Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, says he has no intention of contesting the 2027 presidential election, declaring instead that his focus is on helping to remove the current administration, which he called a “tragedy.”
Speaking on Arise News on Monday, El-Rufai said, “I have no ambition. I just feel that having contributed to bringing about this tragedy to Nigeria by contributing to the emergence of Tinubu as president, I should contribute… towards removing this evil.”
The ex-FCT Minister said the ruling APC has failed Nigerians, citing internal polling: “There is 91% disapproval of this administration… the worst in Nigeria’s history.”
El-Rufai added he would back any party the opposition unites behind, urging big-name politicians like Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, and Rotimi Amaechi to put ambition aside.
“Nigerians are looking for a credible option… That’s the key thing,” he said.
