A two-hour ultimatum from Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho reportedly forced kidnappers to release an abducted family in Oyo State, sparking jubilant celebrations.
Residents of Igboho in Oyo State erupted in celebration after a kidnapped family — a pregnant woman, her children and a sibling — were freed following a stern two-hour ultimatum from Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, according to The Punch.
Videos showed crowds singing and dancing over the family’s return.
The release came after Igboho confronted suspected Fulani community leaders over rising abductions, accusing them of killing a ransom-bearer despite payment. “Let this be the last time such a thing will happen,” he warned, threatening tougher action if it recurred.
