ADC presidential aspirant Mohammed Hayatu-Deen has ruled out withdrawing from the 2027 race, insisting Nigeria urgently needs competent leadership to reverse decades of economic and governance failure.
Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, a presidential aspirant on the African Democratic Congress (ADC) platform, has declared he will not step down for any rival ahead of the party’s 2027 primaries.
Responding to questions about competition from figures such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-minister Rotimi Amaechi, Hayatu-Deen invoked his constitutional right to contest.
“This is a very serious undertaking, and we are at a defining moment in our country’s history,” he said.
He blamed Nigeria’s inflation, unemployment, insecurity, and deteriorating public services on weak leadership since 2007, contrasting this with Rwanda and Ghana’s recoveries under disciplined governance.
“I believe I have the experience, ideas, and practical capacity to help turn this country around,” he said.
Should he lose the ticket, Hayatu-Deen pledged loyalty: “Whoever emerges as the candidate will have my full support.”
