The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested a fish seller and two women over alleged immoral conduct during a raid at a housing estate along Daura Road.
According to Punch, the Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested a 35-year-old fish seller and two women following a raid at the Sheikh Muhammad Nasiru Kabara Housing Estate, popularly known as Bandirawo Housing Estate, along Daura Road in Kano.
The suspects — Ali Abubakar, Khadija Ahmad, 30, and Fatima Abubakar, 28, a Nigerien national — were apprehended during an operation led by Hafizu Garba Adakawa.
According to the Hisbah statement: “When interrogated, one of the suspects, Khadija, stated that the apartment she occupied with her children had been lent to her and that she occasionally rented out rooms in the house for prostitution in exchange for payment.”
The suspects claimed it was their first offence and appealed for forgiveness. They were subsequently arraigned before a court within the Hisbah Board premises. The board reaffirmed its commitment to combating immorality across Kano State.
