A High Court in Uyo sentenced Living Faith pastor Prince Emmanuel Umoh to death by hanging after convicting him of the 2020 murder of his landlord, Gabriel Bassey Edward.
An Akwa Ibom State High Court sitting in Uyo has sentenced Living Faith Church resident pastor Prince Emmanuel Umoh to death by hanging after finding him guilty of murdering his landlord, Gabriel Bassey Edward, who was fatally stabbed in December 2020. Delivering the judgment, Justice Gabriel Ette held that the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt based on witness testimony and circumstantial evidence, including reports of screams, blood-stained clothing and the recovery of a knife near the victim’s body, while noting disputes over church property and unpaid rent before the incident; declaring, “Having found you guilty as charged, I hereby sentence you to death by hanging,” the judge concluded.
