NSC Chairman: FIFA yet to communicate about our petition against DRC, but we’re confident

Shehu Dikko says FIFA has not yet ruled on Nigeria’s petition against DR Congo but insists the country has a strong case.

Shehu Dikko, chairman of the National Sports Commission, says FIFA has yet to communicate a decision on the Nigeria Football Federation’s petition against DR Congo over alleged ineligible players during the World Cup playoffs. “When they finish, they will tell the world,” Dikko said, adding that the matter is before FIFA’s disciplinary bodies and not directly decided by FIFA itself.

Dikko maintained that Nigeria has “a good case” and is “confident” in the evidence submitted. “It’s not being sore losers, it’s just what it is,” he said. He added that the country has moved on from the World Cup disappointment and is focused on future competitions, while awaiting the outcome of the legal process.
