Canada has introduced five new Express Entry draw categories for 2026 targeting Nigerian and other foreign workers to meet labour and talent needs.
The Government of Canada has announced five new Express Entry draw categories for 2026 aimed at attracting workers from Nigeria and other countries, with Immigration Minister Lena Metlege Diab making the announcement in Ottawa on Wednesday. “Today, we are introducing new categories designed to meet and support Canada’s evolving needs and reflect our government’s determination to attract the best talent to Canada,” Ms Diab said. According to Canada’s official immigration website, the new categories include medical doctors, researchers and senior managers with Canadian work experience, as well as transport occupations and skilled military recruits with job offers from the Canadian Armed Forces.
