Rivers State bye-elections for Khana 2 and Ahoada East 2 will hold on February 21 with 12 candidates from smaller parties, as PDP, LP, and ADC have no contenders.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed that bye-elections for Khana Constituency 2 and Ahoada East Constituency 2 will proceed on February 21 without candidates from the Peoples Democratic Party, Labour Party, or African Democratic Congress.
Professor Gabriel Yomere said, “The absence of these political heavyweights is due to a combination of internal and procedural challenges within the parties.” He added that INEC has finalized all logistics, with Supervisory Presiding Officers being permanent INEC staff, ensuring a credible electoral process.
